Leca locality 3: answers

Striae

Striae shows ice-movement parallel with the striae, and it is normally difficult to prove ice-movement direction. In other words,  it is hard to tell if the glacier moved from the beach and up to the roche moutonée, or in the opposite direction.

Roche moutonée

A roche moutonée is oriented in the same direction as the striae, but stoss- and lee-side tells us that the glacier has moved from the beach and up to where the roche moutonée is located.
